South West Airlines
The fourth largest airline in the United States and AutoTrack
Southwest Airlines
Southwest Airlines is the fourth largest airline in the United States, flying more than 70 million passengers a year to 60 great cities all over the southwest and beyond, more than 3,000 times a day.
The Challenge
Managing facilities on this scale is a task that requires some assistance.
The Solution
When Savoy offered Southwest Airlines an evaluation copy of AutoTrack they just had to try it. 'To us this showed that they were interested in our business and had confidence in their product' says Hugo Hernandez, SWA. What appealed to them most was it's ease of use and affordability. Southwest Airlines use AutoTrack in airport design, in particular manoeuvring at the ramp. One of AutoTrack's most recent additions, AutoDrive, has saved valuable time for SWA, allowing them to create a path 'on-the-fly' and try variations without having to recreate the path. The animation tool has also proved invaluable. It allows them to animate difficult manoeuvres within an airport and create a single movie file which can then be forwarded to others for their comment. This then allows problems to be easily identified and solved. Overall, Southwest Airlines have concluded that AutoTrack is a pleasure to use and an invaluable time saver.
'A product I truly enjoy using.' Hugo Hernandez
